It gives employees a single, end-to-end tool to run the business, from customer acquisition through policy administration, and we built it as a precise yet expressive solution in close collaboration.

The Challenge

As an insurance broker, PrishaPolicy runs a business with many moving parts: generating leads, profiling customers, underwriting and endorsing policies, processing renewals and claims, raising invoices, and maintaining detailed records for every corporate client. These workflows were spread across disconnected third-party tools and manual steps, making it hard to follow a lead from first contact to a bound policy, to administer policies consistently, and to get a trustworthy, real-time view of performance across sales and operations. PrishaPolicy needed a single internal platform to unify the entire insurance workflow, one that was fast, reliable, and easy to extend as the business grew. Technically, that meant end-to-end type safety across a fast-growing API surface, secure enterprise-grade authentication, dependable background processing for time-sensitive events such as policy renewals, and real-time notifications to keep sales teams responsive to new opportunities.

Objectives

What we set out to build with PrishaPolicy.

  • -Unify the full insurance workflow (sales, policy administration, invoicing, and client management) inside one internal platform.
  • -Give sales teams a single source of truth for leads, interactions, and conversions.
  • -Make policy administration consistent and auditable, from creation through endorsement, renewal, and claims.
  • -Turn day-to-day operational data into clear, decision-ready insight.
  • -Build on a type-safe, extensible foundation that can grow with the business.

Our Approach

Stakeholder-driven discovery

We worked closely with PrishaPolicy's sales and operations teams to map real workflows, root causes, and priorities before writing a line of code.

A type-safe foundation

We chose an end-to-end TypeScript stack of tRPC and Prisma, so data contracts stay consistent from database to UI and regressions are caught at compile time.

Integration & automation first

We designed around secure authentication and automated background jobs, so time-sensitive events such as policy renewals are handled without manual effort.

Insight by default

We built reporting and analytics into the core, so every module feeds a live operational picture rather than isolated, after-the-fact reports.

The Solution

Vantage is a single internal web application that carries PrishaPolicy's teams through the entire insurance lifecycle. Each module targets a specific part of the business, and together they remove the tool-switching and manual handoffs that used to slow the team down.

Sales Management

A centralized platform for lead generation, customer profiling, and sales tracking. Representatives communicate with prospects, log every interaction, and move deals through the pipeline from a single view.

Impact

Sales teams work from one shared source of truth, so no lead falls through the cracks and managers can see pipeline health at a glance.

Policy Administration

End-to-end handling of policy creation, underwriting, endorsements, and renewals, including coverage options, premiums, and claims processing, all managed inside the platform.

Impact

Policies are administered consistently and auditably across their entire lifecycle, reducing errors and manual rework.

Reporting & Analytics

Customizable dashboards, interactive charts, and data visualization that surface sales performance, promotional effectiveness, and policy metrics for the people who need them.

Leadership makes decisions from live operational data instead of stitching together spreadsheets after the fact.

Invoicing

Invoices are generated and managed as a native part of the sales and policy administration flow, rather than in a separate billing tool.

Billing and payment collection become faster, more accurate, and fully transparent, tied directly to the policies they belong to.

Every company PrishaPolicy serves is managed as a customer, with comprehensive tools to store, access, and maintain account details and relationships.

Under the Hood

Under the hood, Vantage is a type-safe, service-oriented web application. A React front end talks to an Express and tRPC back end over fully typed contracts, Prisma manages data in PostgreSQL, and Redis handles scheduled and background work such as creating a renewal opportunity as a policy approaches expiry. Authentication runs on Azure Active Directory B2C, while Microsoft Teams keeps the sales pipeline visible with real-time notifications.

Frontend

React

Builds modular, scalable user interfaces, composed with Material UI, Tailwind CSS, and React Query for state and data fetching.

Backend & API

tRPC

End-to-end type-safe APIs in TypeScript, catching errors at compile time and keeping client and server contracts in sync.

Express.js

Powers the server layer and middleware, routing requests and handling authentication and other cross-cutting concerns.

Data & Jobs

Prisma + PostgreSQL

Type-safe ORM over PostgreSQL that abstracts SQL and database access so the team can focus on application logic and data modeling.

Redis

Task scheduling and background jobs. For example, it schedules a cron job to create a renewal opportunity as a policy nears expiration.

Azure AD B2C

Cloud-based identity and access management for secure authentication and user management across the application.

Microsoft Teams

Real-time notifications to Teams channels when a lead is created or updated, keeping the sales pipeline visible and responsive.

Outcomes

Built by a five-person team, Vantage now runs as a core part of the platform we developed for PrishaPolicy. It is a single internal application the business uses to run sales, policy administration, invoicing, and client management day to day, and it replaced a patchwork of third-party software and manual steps with one connected workflow the company fully owns and can grow on its own terms.
